PARIS – Community Concepts Inc. will offer a free program on Positive Parenting & Nurturing Parenting Group for parents of children from birth to 12 years.

It will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays, April 29, and June 3, at 4 Market Square in the basement conference room. Information will be presented on setting limits and consequences, communication and conflict, listening skills, handling feelings and developing empathy, developing personal power and positive self-esteem, respect and responsibility, challenging behaviors, and stress and anger. Buffet dinner
WEST PARIS – A public buffet dinner featuring Finnish and American foods will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the Finnish American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St. Adults $6, children $3. Sponsored by the Finnish American Heritage Society of Maine.
Volunteers sought
BRYANT POND – The Maine Conservation School is searching for volunteers to help ready the campus for summer.

A work day is set from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 8. Volunteers are welcome to work all or some of the hours.

Projects needing attention include setting up tents, raking and spreading wood chips. Rakes and a pickup truck would be appreciated.

Lunch will be provided free. People may check out the facilities, meet the staff and bring a canoe, kayak or hiking boots to do some exploring. For information or to sign up, people can call 665-2068.
