FARMINGTON – Police are investigating two stolen vehicles and burglaries of four other vehicles in garages that they believe happened early Tuesday. Police suspect the cases are connected.

The suspect made off with two wallets with cash and credit cards in them, a digital camera, a cellular phone and compact discs, said Farmington police officer Nathan Reid.

The keys had been left in each of the stolen vehicles, he said.

The first vehicle, a 2003 Kia, was taken from Perham Street and was found off the road at Titcomb Hill and Mosher Hill roads. It had minimal front-end damage, he said.

The second vehicle, a 2002 Jeep Cherokee, was taken from Titcomb Hill Road and found about 100 feet down the road, Reid said. It had no damage.

The two vehicles were found a mile apart, he said.

One of the vehicles stolen had compact discs taken from it, Reid said.

Police suspect the person then walked back down Titcomb Hill Road and entered two garages at two residences, he said.

Two vehicles were in each garage, he said. One garage was entered through a bay door that was open and the other through an unlocked back door.

“We suspect all are connected,” Reid said.

Detective Marc Bowering worked to get fingerprints, and Reid collected evidence that is being sent to the state crime laboratory, Reid said.

Reid urged people not to leave their keys in vehicles and to lock their doors.
