AUBURN – Club Richelieu International’s local chapter will celebrate its 45th anniversary and host the Richelieu U.S. District Congress from Friday through Sunday, April 23 to 25, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Great Falls Plaza. Some 100-plus delegates from New England to Florida are expected to be on hand.

General International President Jacques Tramblay of Ottawa’s head office has delegated his first vice president, Jean-Luc Malverne, as his representative. Malverne is the International District 3 administrator from Central Quebec.

Club Richelieu International was established in 1945 in Ottawa. The local chapter was founded on May 30, 1959.

The organization is dedicated to youth, family and enlightenment of the French language and culture in the world – somewhat comparable to the Rotary clubs. It has around 300 clubs in all the major French-speaking countries.

The Club Richelieu’s Congress District 6 and the local chapter’s anniversary are co-sponsored by Armand Devoe, administrator from Salem, Mass., and the local president, Roger Mailhot.
