LEWISTON – Lawris E. “Broz” Graves, 75, of Greene and Northeast Harbor, died April 20, at a Lewiston health care facility.
Born in Northeast Harbor, Oct. 18, 1928, he was the son of Lawris N. and Bessie L. (Haynes) Graves.
As a young man he started working for his father at the family grocery store, the Economy IGA Store, Northeast Harbor. As time progressed after his father died, he worked with his mother to maintain the family business.
“Broz” is survived by four children, James Graves and wife, Linda of Saugus, Mass., Brenda Jones and husband, Allen of Cutler, Ronald Graves and wife, Renee and Douglas Graves, all of Bar Harbor; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers; and four sisters.
He was predeceased by his companion, Gwendolyn Hallowell, a granddaughter, Hunter Graves and a brother, Thomas N. Graves.
