Beware! They are coming after your pocketbooks again.

Poland had to have the high school in its town; this became a bigger tax burden than needed because Poland could not wait and work together with the rest of Union 29 towns.

Our town fathers had to flex their wings and take on a hefty tax burden for every taxpayer in Poland. This expense will continue to grow; we own the school. It is not a tri-town school.

It’s Dj vu again. I’m referring to the Union 29 building Poland wants to put in. Shouldn’t the three towns own and maintain it? What will happen if Poland owns it, and all of a sudden Minot and Mechanic Falls decide they don’t want to be a part of it? It’s my belief that a lot more research needs to be done and a lot more unity among the three towns has to happen about the purchase and maintenance of this type of facility.

I urge all taxpayers to think before you vote on this and all articles. We don’t need to be the big spenders. We don’t have much more to spend. Everyone needs to get out and vote.

Let’s maintain our tax base for a couple of years instead of adding on a couple of mils each year. How do you do this, you ask? Vote no increase in any budgets. It’s time to put the wish list away.
