OTISFIELD – Two brothers missing from their home in Otisfield for more than a week were found Friday by police in Cumberland County.
Gary “DJ” Drew Jr., 13, was picked up by Windham police after the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office got a tip that he was in a certain car in Windham.
“We got a call about 2 o’clock with a license plate number,” said Oxford County Cpl. Dane Tripp.
The tip was given to Windham police, who found the car and stopped it, but Drew had already been dropped off by then.
“The people in the car were persuaded to tell where he was,” Tripp said.
Police found the runaway teen at the dropoff location and apprehended him after a foot chase, Tripp said.
His father, Gary Drew Sr., of 75 Sherwood Drive in Otisfield came to get his son after probation officer Chris Dillman authorized his release.
Gary Jr. and his brother, Garrett Drew, 16, were on house arrest at their father’s home when they disappeared April 13, their father said.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department picked up Garrett Drew in East Sebago on Friday night, according to an Oxford County dispatcher. The juvenile was being detained.
Oxford County Cpl. Matt Baker was continuing to investigate the case Friday night.
