EAST CORINTH – Candide Phillippon Henry, 88, a former resident of 3 Free St., Livermore Falls, died peacefully Friday, April 23, under the care of Emilio Estates of East Corinth, her home for the past five and a half years.

She was born Aug. 30, 1915, in St. Evariste, Quebec, the daughter of Isodore and Adelia Nadeau Philippon. She attended elementary school in Canada for six years and completed two years of school when her family moved to Winthrop. While working at the woolen mill in Winthrop she met Fidele Henry of Jay. They were married at St. Francis Xavier Church on June 1, 1944.

She was a communicant of St. Rose Church in Jay where she was a member of St. Anne’s Society and the Daughters of Isabella. She also worked at Lakeshore Motel and Livermore Shoe. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and traveling.

She is survived by one son, Richard and his wife Paula of Mobile, Ala.; two daughters, Anita and her husband Gerald Bosse of Levant, and June and her husband Tony Grippo of Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; one brother, Ted of Winthrop; and five grandchildren, Geoffrey and his wife Shauna, Steven, Michelle and her husband Jared, Michael and Patricia.

She was predeceased by her husband, Fidele; five brothers, Joseph, Philip, Rosario, Gus, and Marius; and three sisters, Eva LaChance, Angeline Gagne, and Louise Ouellette.
