WINTHROP – Kathleen Tappan of Winthrop and Ernest A. Henderson of Kenai, Alaska, are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Alicia A. Henderson, to Philip F. Chapman III, son of Philip and Jeanette Chapman of Winthrop.

Miss Henderson is a 1995 graduate of Kenai Central High School in Kenai, Alaska, a 1999 graduate of Sacred Heart University, and a 2003 graduate of the University of Southern Maine. She teaches biology and ecology at Leavitt Area High School in Turner.

Mr. Chapman is a 1994 graduate of Winthrop High School and a 1998 graduate of Maine Maritime Academy. He is currently employed for the Alaskan Tanker Company as a second engineer.

An October wedding is planned.
