AUBURN – George Harry Damon, 78, of Buckfield, died in Auburn on Saturday, April 24.

He was born in Buckfield on April 29, 1925, the son of Wilson and Hazel (Keene) Damon. He was educated in local schools and had worked as a woodsman most of his life. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post # 58 of Buckfield.

George is survived by four sisters, Gladys Newbegin of Warner, N.H. and Laura Atkinson, Marjorie Gesner and Mildred Newton all of Buckfield; many nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was especially fond of his many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Norman and Stanley and sister, Lillian Morris.
