PORTLAND – Barbara Morse Davenport of Oquossoc, passed away in Portland on Tuesday, April 20.

Born in Rumford, July 17, 1912, the daughter of James and Nellie Morse, she was a life-long member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She and her husband, Virgil, owned and operated Bemis Camps from 1944-1954, and Camp Antlers from 1966-1986, both in Oquossoc.

Survivors include four children, James and his wife, Christine, Linda, Walter and Susan and her husband, Larry Koob; her cat, Casper; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Katherine; and a brother, Walter.
