LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Joseph R. “Bob” Desjardins, 82, of Louisville, Ky., died Saturday, April 24, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville’s inpatient unit at Norton Audubon Hospital.

He was a native of Auburn, was an Eagle Scout and a decorated Army Air Force veteran of World War II.

He was the president of Lowe Bros. Paint Co. and vice president of Sherwin-Williams Paint Co. He retired as the president of Devoe-Reynolds Paint Co. Most recently, he was the owner of JD’s Decorating in Middletown, Ky. He had numerous local and national awards related to the paint industry.

Survivors include his present wife, Bonnie Wathen Desjardins; three sons, Robert Desjardins (Karen) of Allendale, N.J., Randall Desjardins (Janis) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Danie Desjardins (Dindy) of Madison, Wisc.; two daughters, Janice Heaton (Ken) of Kettering, Ohio, and Rita Dunn of Milliken, Colo.; a stepson, Jason Wathen (Erin) of New York, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Oliver (Sonny) of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Richard Desjardins (Betty) of Wilmington, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette; and a brother, Raymond Desjardins.
