LIVERMORE – Alice Marie Castonguay, 76, a longtime resident of Gibbs Mill Road in Livermore, passed away peacefully, April 26, at home with her family by her side after a brief illness.
She was born on April 25, 1928, in Rumford, the daughter of Jules and Antonia Goulet St. Pierre. She was raised on Hathaway Hill in Livermore and attended the Payson Smith School in Livermore.
On May 15, 1954, she married Francis Castonguay at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. They made their home and raised their family on Gibbs Mill Road in Livermore where she and her husband operated the family farm.
She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay where she was a member of the St. Rose Choir including the Resurrection Choir. She was a very active member of the Circle 677, Daughters of Isabella and also a member of the Cursillo movement.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, music and her animals. She always looked forward to daily visits from her 19 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years of Livermore; seven daughters and three sons and their spouses, Donald and Jackie Castonguay of Livermore, Theresa and Wayne Timberlake of Livermore, Lillian and Mike Fazekas of Leeds, Arlene and John Meyer of Stanwood, Wash., David and Gisele Castonguay of Turner, Alec and Sherri Castonguay of Livermore, Gloria and Gregg Varney of Turner, Jane Castonguay of Livermore, Mary and Denis Daigle of Turner, Rosanna and Jeffrey Goss of Minot; two sisters, Irene Castonguay of Livermore and Julie Maurais of Jay; four brothers, Albert St. Pierre of Jay, Emile “Joe” St. Pierre of Rumford, Alfred St. Pierre of New Hampshire, and Roland St. Pierre of Livermore; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Romeo St. Pierre and Rene St. Pierre.
