LEWISTON – Freda L. Frost, 89, a resident of Auburn, died unexpectedly Monday, April 26, at Central Maine Medical Center.
Born in North Wayne, Oct. 24, 1914, the daughter of Leigh N. and Ethel Gilman Haynes, she attended school in North Wayne and Kents Hill.
She worked as a nurses aide and then as ward clerk at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Auburn.
She loved to knit and do arts and crafts, knitting hundreds of pairs of mittens for many different organizations.
Survivors include her daughter, Gladys Campbell and her husband, Howard of Litchfield; two grandsons, Thomas Campbell and James Campbell and his wife, Samantha, all of Litchfield; two great-grandchildren, James Campbell II and his wife, Amy of Sabattus and Sondra Campbell of Litchfield; one great-great-grandson, John Paradise Jr.; one half-sister, Cora Woodman of Concord, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Marion Smith of North Monmouth and Bertha Wright of Jewett City, Conn.
