Rosary Sodality
LEWISTON – The Rosary Sodality of St. Patrick’s Parish will have the Eucharist as a group on Sunday, May 2, at the 8:30 a.m. Mass. A light reception will follow in the Msgr. Gleason Hall for sodalists and their families.
The monthly meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 4. The gathering will begin with the recitation of rosary in the chapel at 6:30 p.m. with installation of new members following. The meeting will take place in the Msgr. Gleason Hall with coffee and dessert served by Nicole LaBonte and her committee.
Parents education
LEWISTON – The South Lewiston Childcare Center will host a parenting workshop, “Smart Discipline,” from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 1, at the center, 1919 Lisbon Road. The cost is $16 a person or couple. For more information, call 784-2526.
Cemetery meeting
BOWDOIN – The West Bowdoin Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at the West Bowdoin Baptist Church Parish House. Anyone interested is invited. Trustees will hold a meeting after the association session.
Fortier Chapter
LEWISTON – The Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52, Association Canado-Americaine, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 3, in the Senior Citizens Room of the Multi-Purpose Center.
The agenda will focus on the election of officers and plans for the annual banquet in June.
A report will be given on the success of the Spring Cheer and Chowder Revels being held on May Day at Schooner Estates Retirement Community in Auburn in commemoration of Join Hands Day, a national day of volunteering for which older and younger folks join forces to better their community.
The May 1 event is a fund-raiser for the ACA chapter’s new youth enrichment fund, which will support programs to teach local youngsters about their own cultural heritage as well as that of the world around them.

College course
AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer “Selling on E-Bay,” a four-week workshop, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, from May 5 through 26. The cost is $65 and space is limited.
Participants will learn how to post items for sale on E-Bay. The class will cover tips for collecting information, writing descriptions that sell, payment features and using scanners and digital cameras to add pictures.

Open house
TOPSHAM – Flying Changes Center for Therapeutic Riding will host its annual open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at its facility, Route 201.
Special needs students will give demonstrations, including riding, carriage driving with miniature horses, vaulting and jumping. Staff will be available to discuss the variety of programs, including registration for summer horsemanship day camp.
Individuals interested in volunteering at the center are also welcome to visit and explore volunteer opportunities. Lily, the Outreach Visitation Program’s miniature horse, will be available to visit and be photographed with to benefit the center’s programs.
