MECHANIC FALLS – There will be a Lamplighter Smorgasbord from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the First Congregational Church. The menu will include baked ham, beans, brown bread, casseroles, salads, deviled eggs, dessert and beverage. Admission is $6 for adults, $2 for children.

Clean-up day

NORWAY – The Norway Recreation Department is sponsoring a Community Clean-Up Day for the Lake Pennesseewassee Park from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 1, at the park’s location off Route 118. There will be concentration on raking the boat landing area and trash pick-up throughout the park. Please bring your own rakes and gloves. Trash bags will be provided. Art show

NORWAY – SAD 17 will present an art show titled “The Eyes Have It” from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 4, 5 and 6 and on Friday, May 7 from 8 a.m. to noon, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Artwork is by students from kindergarten through grade 12.

Job fair

PARIS – The Growth Council of Oxford Hills will sponsor a Oxford Hills Job Fair at the University, College and Career Center at 232 Main St. This event is open to the public and company registration is free. FMI or to register, email [email protected].

Rummage sale

NORWAY – The Norway St. Catherine’s Youth Ministry will have rummage sale from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 8, in the parish hall at 32 Paris St. It is expected that there will be clothing, toys, games, and white elephant items available. Money raised will be used for activities and retreats and special charities. The youth plan to purchase backpacks to be filled with usable items for homeless teens. They became interested in the project last December when they helped with the Christmas for Teens program.

Bake sale

OTISFIELD – The Otisfield Fire Association will be holding a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Hancock Lumber in Casco Village.
