LEWISTON – Daniel R. Sirois, 46, of 19 School St., Lewiston died Tuesday evening, April 27, at his residence following a courageous battle with brain cancer with his loving family and friends by his side.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 14, 1957, the son of Edward and Jeannette (St. Pierre) Sirois and had been a resident of this community all of his life.

He married the former Carol M. Lebrun on May 25, 1985.

He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1976, and worked at Marcotte Nursing Home and at the Bates Mill until 1984. He then worked at Philips Elmet until his illness in November of 2002.

He was a Eucharistic Minister at the former St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston and served on the Parish Council for many years until it closed. He then became a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family Church in Lewiston.

“Dan” loved spending time with his family going to the beach, amusement parks, or going for late night dips in their pool. He will always be remembered for his warm and friendly smile and his usual remark “As If.” He also touched the lives of many people and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Carol of Lewiston; two daughters, Felicia and Katelyn Sirois, and one son, Craig Sirois all of Lewiston; one sister, Yvonne Wilcox and her husband Michael of Auburn; two brothers, Alfred and Mike Sirois both of Auburn; one uncle, Romeo St. Pierre and his wife Connie of Lewiston; one aunt, Gert Bailey and her companion, Henry Morin of Lewiston; nieces and nephews include, Jennifer Lewis, Brian Sirois, Melissa Freeman, Stephanie Sirois, Nicole Sirois, Ryan Lebrun, Travis Lebrun; and two great-nephews; his mother and father-in-law, Gerard and Marie Lebrun of Lewiston; and his special dog, “Mitsi” who was his protector and by his side until the end.

He was predeceased by his parents; maternal grandparents, Roseanna Matteau and Alfred St. Pierre; his stepgrandmother, Yvonne Vaillancourt; and his paternal grandparents, Yvonne and Joseph Sirois.
