City Council and School Committee members will meet Thursday.
LEWISTON – A dearth of microphones will keep Thursday night’s council meeting from airing.
The City Council and School Committee are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. in the City Council chambers to discuss the coming fiscal year budget. Staff tried to find a way to get that meeting broadcast on Great Falls TV, said City Clerk Kathy Montejo. “But we can’t make the logistics with the cameras or the microphones work,” Montejo said.
The two boards will meet around tables set up in front of the chambers. At least 14 city officials are expected to attend and the city can’t come up with enough microphones to go around.
Three cameras are mounted in the ceiling above the chambers, and Montejo said city staff can’t find a way to seat people to provide good coverage of the meeting.
“We know a lot of people have been tuning in to watch these meetings, and we expect they’ll be disappointed that this won’t be on,” she said.
The meeting is open to the public, however, and everyone is invited to attend.
