LEWISTON – Members of the L-A Corporate Partners’ Health Care Action Team will host a reception for all nursing students in Lewiston-Auburn from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 3, at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
The event will enable students to network with nurses, hear from recent graduates, explore job opportunities and meet with human resource representatives from the major local health care providers.
The Health Care Action Team is comprised of local business and health care representatives who have joined forces with the University of Southern Maine and Central Maine Community College officials to address the increasing need for qualified health care professionals.
Ongoing efforts include an educational needs assessment survey, an “Earn While You Learn” program for future nurses, and a “Coaches for Nursing Students” program that matches nursing students with area health care professionals.
L-A Corporate Partners is an organization that supports and advocates for CMCC and USM/L-A and works to create and foster a flow of information and resources among the institutions, local organizations and businesses.
