FARMINGTON – Registrations are being accepted for the May “Prescriptions for Health” presentation featuring Rita M. Porter, RN, and Susan Dalrymple, RT mammography technologist.
The presentation “One in Eight: Know the Facts about Breast Cancer” will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 13, in the Chisholm Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
The presentation is free, open to the public and includes light refreshments.
“One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime and more than 1,000 women in Maine will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year,” said Porter, who is the care support nurse for Franklin Memorial Hospital’s Breast Care Center. “Early detection and prompt treatment significantly reduces the death and suffering caused by this disease.”
The presentation will feature guidelines for early detection and information on breast cancer screening and diagnostic services, as well as a tour of the hospital’s new Breast Care Center.
Registration for the presentation is required, as space is limited. For more information or to register, call Jill Gray at 779-2555.
