WINTHROP – Bree Loon scattered two hits and received strong support at the plate as Jay rolled past Winthrop 3-0 in MVC softball action Thursday.

Lyndsay McDonald and Kaylee DeMillo had RBI doubles for the Tigers (3-0), while Rachel Gagnon and Heather Swacey also posted doubles.

Morgan Guerrette, Brittany Freley led the Ramblers (0-3) with singles.

Messalonskee 5, Lewiston 0

OAKLAND – Clarice Pepper pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out nine batters as Messalonskee defeated Lewiston 5-0.

Ashley Currier hit a double for Messalonskee (6-0), which was the only extra base hit in the game. Katie Morin was the starting pitcher for the Blue Devils (4-4).

Livermore Falls 11, Mt. Abram 4

LIVERMORE FALLS – Sarah Hamilton’s three-run double in the fourth inning got things started for Livermore Falls as the Andies coasted to an 11-4 victory over Mt. Abram.

Pitchers Cassandra Purrington and Danielle Gray combined for 11 strikeouts and one walk for the Andies (2-3). Mt. Abram’s Whitney Fahey hit a double and scored a run.

This was the second straight game that Livermore Falls had 11 runs and 11 hits.
