BATH – Brian Erickson had a pair of hits and scored three runs to lead Edward Little to a 5-1 win over Morse.

The Shipbuilders jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Red Eddies’ (2-5) pitcher Matt Bennett dug in and closed the door on any further scoring.

Kyle Smith contributed a pair of RBIs with a run-scoring single in the third and a sacrifice fly in the sixth for Edward Little.

Boothbay 14, Monmouth 2

MONMOUTH – Matt Higgins tossed a one-hitter for Boothbay during a 14-2 victory over Monmouth.

The Mustangs (2-3) kept it close behind the pitching of Mark Wade, until the fifth inning when the Seahawks strung together two singles, a walk and a home run by Mike Norton to open up a 7-1 lead. Norton had a homer and a double fro Boothbay. Ben Nicherson also went yard for the Seahawks, who remained undefeated on the season.

Liv. Falls 10, Geo. Valley 2

LIVERMORE FALLS – Pitcher Mike Chamard knocked in four runs with a pair of hits, including a two-run homer. to spark Livermore Falls to a 10-2 win over Georges Valley.

Brad Bryant, who had three hits, blasted a solo home run on the game’s first pitch for the Andies (3-3). Charmard took care of the rest, striking out 10 batters.

Tom Rackliff hit a two-run double for Georges Valley.

Oxf. Hills 6, Skowhegan 2

SOUTH PARIS – Chris Jennings had a two-run single in the second inning and Matt McDonnell cracked a two-run double in the fourth to lift Oxford Hill to a 6-2 win over Skowhegan.

Chris Henderson had three hits, including a triple for the Vikings (8-1). McDonnell remained undefeated with his third pitching victory of the season.

Matt Ouellette took the loss for the Indians (3-5).

Oak Hill 10, Erskine 2

SOUTH CHINA – Oak Hill strung six hits and a walk together for a five-run fourth inning to send Erskine packing with a 10-2 loss Friday.

Adam Labbe relieved ace Patrick Duchette in a rare first-inning trouble spot to strike out eight and give up only four hits and three walks to pick up his first win of the season for the Raiders (4-1).

Duchette chippped in at the plate with a pair of hits, including a double.

Jesse Wing, who took the loss for the Eagles (3-2), also had a double to his credit.

Mt. Blue 11, Waterville 5

FARMINGTON – Jake Hardy went 2-for-4 and recorded three RBIs to lead Mt. Blue to an 11-5 win over Waterville.

The Cougars (7-1) took the wind out of the Panthers’ (2-6) sails with nine runs in the first two innings, and went on to record 15 hits.

Brian Wells, who started for Mt. Blue, had a pair of hits, including a double.

Telstar 10, Carrabec 0

BETHEL – Ryan Cross went the distance, giving up two hits and striking out five, to lead unbeaten Telstar to a 10-0 win against Carrabec.

Terry Collins sparked the attack with a double for Telstar (3-0). Tim Therrian and Tom Therrian had the only two hits for Carrabec (0-3).

Leavitt 5, Gardiner 4

TURNER – Brian Metayer’s pinch-hit single in the bottom of the sixth inning tied the game and a throwing error on the same play allowed the winning run to score as Leavitt won its fith consecutive game with a 5-4 win over Gardiner.

Metayer’s single scored Tony Pirrucello with the tying run. With Brandon Hinckley attempting to go from first to third on the hit, the relay throw to the thrid baseman was off target, allowing Hinckley to score.

Adam Sawyer pitched a gritty game for the Hornets (5-3). He allowed nine hits, struck out three and pitched himself out of trouble on a couple of occasions to pick up the win in his first start of the season.

Tim Colby led the Tigers with two doubles, while Nate Munzing ripped a two-run homer in the first for Gardiner (5-3).

Jay 15, Hall-Dale 1

JAY – Zach Charles fired a one-hitter and powered the offense with two doubles and four RBIs as Jay coasted to a 15-1 triumph over Hall-Dale.

The Tigers (5-0) riddled Hall-Dale pitching for 13 hits and scored in every inning until the game was halted in the fifth.

Jacob Turner also knocked in four runs for Jay while Joel Ouellette had three RBIs to go with his three hits. Ryan DiPompo chipped in with a triple.

Mt. Ararat 10, Lewiston 0

TOPSHAM – Brandon Galarneau pitched a one-hitter and fanned five hitters to lead Mt. Ararat to a 10-0 victory over Lewiston.

Chris Doherty had two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles (7-1). Mike Johnson had the only hit for Lewiston (3-6).

Lacrosse
Brunswick 19, Oak Hill 1

WALES – Ben MacCabe scored three goals and had two assists to lead Brunswick to a 19-1 win over Oak Hill (1-3).

Joe Tiemann also netted three goals and Brad Bishop had 14 saves for the Dragons (4-0). Joey Hinkley scored Oak Hill’s only goal on a pass from Ryan Gallagher.
