NAUMBURG, Germany – Lisbon High School senior Troy Clark finished 49th Saturday in the IAAF World Cup 10-kilometer junior racewalk competition.

One of three Americans competing on the world stage, Clark was timed in 49 minutes, 19 seconds to finish second among the American racewalkers. Top American seed Zach Pollinger of New Jersey finished just ahead of Clark in 48th place in 49:06.

The other U.S. walker, Joe Trepani of New York, placed 54th with a time of 56:14.

Clark’s time was 54 seconds off his seed time.

Hot and sunny conditions with temperatures in the 70s greeted the competitors. A total of 67 walkers from 34 nations were entered in the World Cup junior men’s championship.
