FARMINGTON – Each year Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District sponsors a poster contest with the goal to provide time for students to learn about natural resource conservation.
Posters are also a means where they can personalize conservation knowledge and attitudes and put them in their own words and images. This year’s theme is “The Living Soil.”
First- and second-place winners in each division are sent to the state level for judging. First-place state winners will proceed to the national level. Prizes are awarded at each level.
There were 111 posters submitted for the 2004 Franklin County contest. First place will receive a $50 savings bond. Second and third will receive a tree to plant.
