WILTON – Selectmen will hear an update from the Wilton Development Corp. on property offered to the town when the board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the town office.

Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. earlier this year offered the old Bass Distribution Center to the town for $1. The building is next to the town office and houses the ICT in-bound call center. Since the offer was made, officials have been working on options for the building.

Last month selectmen agreed to put $5,000 toward marketing efforts. The $5,000 will come from the Wilton Development Opportunity Fund to support marketing efforts for someone to work toward the future development of the building.

In other business, officials will set up an interview team for the recently vacated highway foreman position. Ken Vining resigned from the post after 27 years of service. Vining said in a letter to officials that he was resigning for “numerous personal reasons” that he wants to “keep silent for now.” His resignation was effective April 16. Selectmen will sign a letter of appreciation to Vining.

Selectmen will review water rate study results produced by Maine Rural Water Association. They will also hear a quarterly report from Water and Sewer Superintendent Russ Mathers and discuss an urgent needs grant application to extend water service to homes on Bennett and Thompson streets. Officials will consider awarding the bid for printing the annual town report and decide who the town report will be dedicated to this year. They will also consider awarding the bid for road reclaiming and repaving, subject to town meeting approval.

Annual elections will take place along with the state voting Tuesday, June 8. The annual town meeting will reconvene at Academy Hill School at 6:30 p.m. the following Monday, June 14.
