PERU – On Monday, selectmen and the road commissioner took their first look at bids sent in for the plow truck the town will buy this year.
Five bids were received, most around $50,000. A decision on the bids was put off until next Monday’s meeting because the board wanted time to make sure the lowest bids included all required specifications.
In his weekly report, Road Commissioner David Gammon said the town will receive more than $14,000 in federal grant money for damage caused by storms last December.
The FEMA grants are meant to assist with the costs of road repairs needed as a result of the storms.
