LEWISTON – Cecile Levesque Bouchard, 89, a former resident of 105 Lincoln St., passed away from this life on Sunday, May 2, with her loving family by her side, after many confusing years afflicted with Alzheimer’s Disease. She can now rest in peace with our Lord, Jesus Christ. She and her family would like to thank the caring personal at Marshwood Nursing Home and also Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for helping to make her last days comforting and calming.

Born in Fort Kent, Dec. 18, 1914, to Oliver and Sophie Daigle Levesque. She was the oldest of 15 children and attended school until the third grade so that she might help her mother with the younger brothers and sisters.

She married Leon Bouchard Sept. 4, 1934, at St. Bruno’s Church in Van Buren, and made their home in the Lewiston area for promise of a better life filled with opportunities in spite of having to face the language barrier.

Leon and Cecile have four children, the oldest son, Roland Bouchard and his wife Diane (Vellieux) of Manchester, N.H., Roger Bouchard of Lisbon and his companion Aline Lepage of Lewiston, Normand Bouchard and his wife Alta (Charest) of Lisbon; and one daughter, Leola J. Bouthot of Auburn.

A member of St. Mary’s Church, she was also a homemaker who was very creative in sewing, knitting, crocheting, and mending clothes for her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking but is best remembered for her homemade fudge and doughnuts.

She was a nurturing soul who loved just taking care of her loved ones, rocking and humming lullabies to each and everyone until they became too big and heavy to hold on her lap.

She is not only survived by her children, but by three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Dubois of Lewiston, Mrs. Roland (Jeanette) Lesmerise of Manchester, N.H., and Mrs. Raymond (Germaine) Dube of Sabattus; also three brothers, Robert Levesque and his wife Linda of Chestnut, Ill., Joseph Levesque and his wife Rita of West Paris and Conrad Levesque of Manchester, N.H.; nine grandchildren, Michael Bouchard, Brian Bouchard, Debra Percy, Catherine Bouchard, Annette LaPointe, Venise Cyr, Donald Bouthot, Daniel Bouthot and Dinah-Marie Ducharme; 12 great-grandchildren, Cooper, Sonja, Gannon, Victoria, Nichole, Donald, Dinah-Rene, Brandon, Chandel, Matthew, Michael, Marcus; one great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leon June 5,1960; four sisters, Rita Jacques, Yvette Ouellette, Regina Sprague, Irene Chasse; and four brothers, Omer, Armand, Camille, and Lionel Levesque.
