FARMINGTON – Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that failed to negotiate a corner early Sunday, hit a curb and flipped onto its roof. A witness told police that three people ran from the scene through the Farmington Fairgrounds.

Police Lt. Jack Peck said the red, 1985 Toyota MR2 didn’t have any license plates on it when it was discovered on Maple Avenue.

The vehicle had been traveling on High Street when it turned onto Maple Avenue and hit the curb, he said.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Cpl. Nathan Bean and his tracking dog, Ben, were called in, but Bean was tied up on another case and by the time he arrived, Peck said, the dog couldn’t get a track.
