AUBURN – U.S. Glass edged VFW 5-4 in an opening Major Division game in the New Auburn Little League. Glass rallied for 3 runs in the top of the sixth to grab the lead then threw out 2 VFW runners at the plate in the last of the frame to preserve the victory. Winning hurler Brian Bickford aided his cause with 2 hits. Tough-luck losing pitcher Kenzie Souders, who struck out 13, also had a hit.

New Gloucester

NEW GLOUCESTER – Chris Norton banged a triple and single to power the Red Sox to a 12-2 victory over the White Sox in the Major Division. Jesse Ordway chipped in with a double, while Adam Jensen scored 3 times. Joe Billings walloped 2 solo homers for the White Sox.

Elliot

LEWISTON – Rowe Lewiston (formerly Reed Distributors) defeated Dube Flower 12-1 in an opening game in the Major Division of the Elliot Little League. Alex Brochu hurled 5 strong innings, striking out 12. Rowe collected 12 hits, led by Tom Elie with 3 singles. Cam Hart, Brent Lacombe and Ian Bannister each added 2 hits. Frankie Welch paced Dube with 2 safeties. Brian Wigant drove in the lone run.
