LEWISTON – A total of 51 players from all over the country competed in the first Maine USATT-sanctioned table tennis tourney hosted by the Multi-Purpose Center Table Tennis League May 1.
David Marcus of Boston, a qualified national referee, was in charge of the proceedings. The ratings of all players can be found on the website at www.RatingsCentral.com.
Following are the tourney results:
Under 1000: 1. Saif Mohammed; 2. Randy Toth. Under 1400: 1. Alan Imes; 2. John Krainis. U-1800: 1. Kosei Takahashi; 2. Danya Budiman. Junior: 1. Ania Mohammed; 2. Saif Mohammed. Seniors: 1. Alex Chaung; 2. Mark Hamilton. Women: 1. Anisa Mohammed; 2. Irena Stepan. Unrated: 1. Eric Medina; 2. Colin Hewett. Doubles: 1. Kip Jordan-Sonu Bhatia; 2. Alex Chaung-Krishnan Venkatramanan. Open: 1. Kosei Takahashi; 2. Alex Chaung.
The MPCTTL will resume play in September. This season’s last function is the annual banquet, May 8 at Marco’s Restaurant.
