LIVERMORE FALLS – The Planning Board accepted a site plan review Wednesday night for the “Touch of Life Center,” a massage and neuromuscular therapy business to be located in the former Primary School.

Randy L. Ryder of Wilton will operate the center, which will be in the former principal’s office. He’ll turn it into a treatment room and office.

He says the center will offer relaxation message and pain management. Hours will be 4 to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays.

Ryder plans to open the business in July following his graduation June 19. He is in training now.

Approval was contingent on successful completion of his studies, state licensing, state certification and pending sub-division approval for the building.

Since this is the third business to go into the former school, which houses Curves and a martial arts academy, the owner, Traci Hollingdale will have to get a subdivision permit.

She is scheduled to meet with Code Enforcement Officer Brenda Medcoff next week. A public hearing on her plan will be held at the June 2 meeting.

The board signed a three-lot sub-division plan for Ron Benvie for Alden Woods on Campground Road.

Review of the proposed building notification and pawn shop ordinances resulted in several minor clarifications, which were returned to selectmen for approval.

Chairman Guy Palmieri will take minutes at future meetings to relieve Medcoff of the duty, giving her more time for inspections and enforcement.
