WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Susan Collins is inviting all Maine veterans and their families to attend a special reception on the eve before the official dedication of the National World War II Memorial.
The reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 28, on Capitol Hill, in the Governmental Affairs Hearing Room. Collins is chairwoman of the Governmental Affairs Committee and is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
The reception to mark the dedication of the World War II Memorial will be held at the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room 342. Maine veterans and their families should respond to Jeffrey Morris at 202-224-2523 or [email protected].
The National World War II Memorial will be dedicated in a public ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 29. It will be the first national memorial dedicated to all who served during World War II. It is located on the National Mall between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
