Pat Douchette is the driving force for Oak Hill.
WALES – Pat Douchette connected for two singles and drove in four runners as Oak Hill powered its way past Maranacook 8-2 in KVAC baseball Thursday.
Jason Guerette and Wally Rines each had a pair of hits for the Raiders who cruised to their seventh win of the season. Mike Eaton picked up his first win, allowing only four hits while tossing a complete game.
The Raiders tallied all the runs they would need in the bottom of the third after two walks to start the inning. Pat Douchette picked up two of his four RBIs with a two-run single. Douchette wound up crossing the plate later in the inning with the eventual game-winner.
Matt Brennen proved to be a thorn in the Raiders’ side going 3-for-4 against Eaton. Maranacook falls to 2-5 on the season.
Livermore Falls 15, Dirigo 2
LIVERMORE FALLS – Chuck Drake punched out a three-run homer in the second inning as Livermore Falls (5-3) collected 17 hits and a 15-2 victory over Dirigo (2-7) in an MVC baseball game Thursday.
Brad Bryant had four hits, including a double. Winning pitcher Mike Chamard (2-1) had two hits and a home run. For Dirigo, Bryan Knowles hit a double.
St. Dom’s 10, Old Orchard Beach 0
AUBURN – Ryan Turgeon tossed a gem of a complete game, striking out 10 Old Orchard batters and walking none as St. Dom’s downed OOB 10-0 Thursday afternoon.
While Seagull batters were bewildered by Turgeon, St. Dom’s batters carved up OOB pitching for 10 hits through six innings.
John Rutt hammered out three hits and drove in two for the Saints while teammate Jack Lavoie had two hits and drove in two more. Josh Dwindal and Ian Pullen joined Rutt and Lavoie with multiple hits, dishing out two apiece. Dwindal proved just as valuable at second base as he and shortstop Jack Lavoie, and first baseman Brett Carey combined for three double plays.
Lisbon 11, Carrabec 1
LISBON – Lisbon’s Jon Tefft had three hits, a triple and two RBIs to lead the Greyhounds to a 11-1 win over Carrabec Thursday.
Chris Kates went the distance, striking out seven to earn his first win of the season for Lisbon (7-2). Jeremy Howell hit a double in the fourth scoring Tom Therrian for Carrabec’s (1-5) lone run.
Skowhegan 5, Leavitt 3
TURNER – Bill Pomerleau belted an RBI single which brought Jared Walker in for the game-winning run as Skowhegan defeated Leavitt 5-3.
Walker had two RBIs in the game for the Indians (4-7). Chad Schrepper had two hits, a double and had an RBI for Leavitt (5-4). Alex Cutter and Brandon Smith each had two hits for the Hornets.
Richmond 14, Rangeley 1
RANGELEY – Erik Nash had a triple and a home run as Richmond marched off with a 14-1 win over Rangeley Thursday.
The Lakers (0-3) fared better in their second matchup with Richmond, scoring first to take a 1-0 lead into the second inning. Paul Cerminara had a triple and David Raymond recorded a double for Rangeley.
Lacrosse
Oak Hill 12, Lincoln 9
WALES – Oak Hill’s Joey Hinkley netted four goals and had two assists as the Raiders defeated Lincoln 12-9 in in boys’ lacrosse Thursday.
Tom Bureau also pitched in with three goals and one assist for Oak Hill (2-3).
August Avantaggio scored four goals and Ben Davis netted two for Lincoln (1-4).
