RUMFORD – Pat Knapp singled in Aaron McPhee for the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning as Mountain Valley remained unbeaten with an 8-7 victory over Livermore Falls.

Mike Chamard hit a two-run homer and Brad Bryant had three hits for the Andies (5-4). Dick Cote had three hits and a double for the Falcons (6-0).

Messalonskee 3, Leavitt 0

OAKLAND – Justin Willey spun a no hitter and struck out 11 Monday as Messalonskee downed Leavitt 3-0 in KVAC baseball.

Matt Seel led off the bottom of the second inning with a single and raced home on a double off the bat of Brandon Sheive with the only run the Eagles (5-7) would need. Messalonskee padded the lead with a run in the fourth and another in the fifth to account for the final score.

Oak Hill 13, Belfast 3

WALES – Rick Leavitt fanned 10 batters in six innings as Oak Hill bolted to a 13-3 victory over Belfast.

The Lions (3-7) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but the Raiders (9-1) responded with seven runs in the home half of the second. Belfast pitcher Nick Arthurs had a difficult time with his control, giving up three hits, but walking five and hitting one batter.

Kyle Lunn and Jason Guerrette had three hits apiece for the Raiders. Lunn had a triple, while Guerrette cracked a pair of doubles.

Skowhegan 6, EL 5

SKOWHEGAN – Scott Labbe snapped a deadlock with an two-out RBI single in the seventh inning to lift Skowhegan to a 6-5 triumph over Edward Little.

The Red Eddies regained the lead with three runs in the fifth and led 5-2 going into the last of the seventh. After giving up a single, Brandon Elie retired the next two batters in succession with a strikeout and a groundout.

Elie’s troubles began when he gave up a pair of doubles and walked a batter before Labbe clinched the win for the Indians (5-7) with an RBI single.

Dave Roberge had three hits for the Red Eddies in the loss.

St. Dom’s 21, Waynflete 0

AUBURN – Ryan Turgeon led a balanced hitting attack with four hits, including a triple and double, and drove in a pair of runs as St. Dom’s pounded out 16 hits to hand Waynflete a 21-0 win in WMC baseball.

The Saints (5-1) scored five times in the first inning and never looked back as the Flyers were limited to a single against three Saints pitchers. Ian Pullen picked up the win with support from Brady Blackman, and Jack Lavoie.

Blackman, Jon Rutt, and Lavoie joined in the hit parade with two hits each while Pullen helped his own cause with a home run.

Waterville 10, Lewiston 1

WATERVILLE – Jeremy Lockhart limited Lewiston to two hits and struck out 10 to lift Waterville to a 10-1 victory.

Chris McCarthy went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and Anthony Tabar scored four runs for the Panthers (4-9). Luke Potter doubled in Brian Blais for the Blue Devils (4-9) only run.

Dirigo 4, Winthrop 3

DIRIGO – Gerry Holman knocked home Brandon Berry for the game-winning run as Dirigo slipped past Winthrop 4-3.

Berry was also the winning pitcher and had two hits. Brian Knowles went 3-for-3 for Dirigo (3-7). Travis Hasenfus had two hits for Winthrop (2-6).

Poland 6, Falmouth 4

POLAND – Jeremy Callahan singled home a pair of runs in the fifth inning to lift Poland to a 6-4 victory over Falmouth in WMC baseball action Monday.

The Knights (7-4) were trailing 4-2 when they rallied in the fifth inning. There were a pair of bunts and stolen bases, a balk and a hit batsmen, all before Callahan singled home Jerry Goss and Tyler Merchant to secure the win.

Luke Rand and Hobson Bradford had a pair of hits each for the Yachtsmen (6-4).

Lacrosse
Mt. Blue 17, Mtn Valley 4

FARMINGTON – Luke Ferreira netted seven goals and added two assists as Mt. Blue stayed unbeated with a 17-4 win over Mountain Valley.

Garrett Lake scored three goals and also had two assists for the Cougars (8-0). Scoring for Mountain Valley were Chris Smith, Mike Hansen, Shane Young and Pat Haris.

Messalonskee 13, St. Dom’s 2

OAKLAND – Phil Mason and Nick Mosher scored four goals apiece to assist Messlonskee in a 13-2 rout over St. Dom’s in boys’ lacrosse action Monday.

The Eagles jumped out to a six-goal advantage in the first quarter and led 10-2 at the half.

Andrew Nadeau and Tavian McKinnon had a goal apiece for the Saints (1-5). Netminder Brendan Dyer was busy in goal, fending off 24 of 37 shots for St. Dom’s.
