BANGOR – More than 250 students from 11 Maine high schools will compete for prizes and scholarships at the Maine Principals’ Association’s 58th annual State Science and Technology Fair on Saturday, May 15, at the University of Maine.

Judging will begin at 9:15 a.m. with exhibits in the Alfond Arena and talks and demonstrations in Bennett Hall, Boardman Hall and Little Hall. The awards ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. in the Alfond Arena. The public is invited to attend all events.

Students from Bangor High School, Bangor Christian Schools, Foxcroft Academy, Georges Valley High School, Greely High School, Hampden Academy, Houlton High School, Medomak Valley High School, Mount Ararat High School, Oak Hill High School and Penquis Valley High School will participate.

Raise funds

TOPSHAM – Hannaford and independent Shop n Save stores across New England collected nearly $50,000 in donations for the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days campaign. In Maine, where the Daffodil Days promotion with Hannaford has been in place for years, more than $25,000 was collected.
