LISBON FALLS – Allen David Collins, 69, of 25 Woodland Ave., died at his home May 10, with his family by his side.

He was born in Brunswick, Jan. 17, 1935, the son of Alton and Mattie Alexander Collins. He was educated in Brunswick schools and later joined the U.S. Navy, where he served during the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict.

He later married the former Irene Crocker. She died March 25, 1994. He worked as a truck driver for many years at the Worumbo Mill in Lisbon Falls and later retired from C.N. Brown.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and canoeing. He also had a great interest in woodworking. His greatest pleasure in life however was spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed but always remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Priscilla Lee of Lisbon; four daughters, Barbara Savarese of Lisbon Falls, Belinda and her husband, Anthony Gunnells of Lisbon, Joann and her husband, Gordon Camous of Auburn and Edith and her husband, Mark Johnston of Lisbon; one son, William and his wife, Debra Collins of Lisbon; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi of Bowdoin and Janet of Bath; one brother, Richard of Harpswell; and several adopted grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one son-in-law, Vinnie Savarese; one brother, Alton Collins; and a sister, Lavinia Lane.
