TURNER – The SAD 52 Adult and Community Education announces the following courses:

A Maine Driving Dynamics Class will be presented by Adult and Community Education and Karen’s Driving School. Jeff Ward will be the instructor for the two-night class from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, May 18 and 20, at Leavitt Area High School.

The five-hour course offers drivers the opportunity to improve their defensive driving abilities. It includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues and the basic elements that challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. The course format engages students with lectures, videos and class discussion/participation. Those completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record.

Adult and Community Education and Karen’s Driving School will present motorcycle permit safety classes. Three classes will be offered by instructor Jeff Ward at Karen’s Driving School, Roak Mall, Center Street, Auburn.

Participants can select from June 13, July 18 or Aug. 15 for an all-day class from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. After completing the mandatory eight-hour class, participants are eligible to receive their motorcycle permit.

The class is open to anyone ages 16 and over. Participants ages 16 to 18 are required to have completed a driver education class and obtained a permit.

Adult and Community Education will present Prepare a Father’s Day Breakfast from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Turner Primary School cafeteria. The instructor will be Jeff Ward and registration fee is $10. Space is limited, so sign up early.
