LEWISTON – Bernadette Audet, 81, of 12 O’Connell St. died Tuesday, May 11, at her home with her family by her side.

Born April 30, 1923, in New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of Josephel and Sadie Rancourt Jalbert, she was educated in Lewiston schools.

She worked at Bates Mfg. Co. for 12 years, retiring in 1951. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards and traveling.

Mrs. Audet was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Lewiston Senior Citizens where she was a member of the bowling league, Covenant 50, Horizon 55.

She is survived by her husband, Lionel R. Audet of Lewiston whom she married April 30, 1949; four sons, Donald R. of Lewiston, Daniel L. of Lewiston, James R. Winthrop, and Roger P. and his wife Jane of Auburn; five grandchildren, Heather, Jacob, Jessica, Nicholas and Stacy; seven sisters, Irene Champagne, Cecilia Gagnon, Laurette Jalbert, Fernande Vachon, Alice Lufkin and her husband Tom, Marie Bolduc and Marguerite Larochelle and her husband Jean all of Lewiston; four brothers, Harvey and his wife Amanda of Sabattus, Pierre and his wife Therese of Lewiston, Laurent and his wife Blanche of Plainville, Conn., Claude and his wife Venise of Kensington, Conn.

She was predeceased by a son, Raymond H. Audet; and two brothers, Albert and Patrick Jalbert.
