AUBURN – SHAREcenter will hold its annual fund-raiser, a huge indoor yard sale, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, in the gym at the Great Falls School, High Street. Proceeds will be used to operate the nonprofit organization.
A wide variety of materials will be available: furniture, books, crafts, clothing (new and used) and household items. A special collection of art prints will be offered along with frames, photo print paper and sketch books.
Businesses and individuals with donations can call 795-0972. To join the volunteers doing set up on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. or for the sale wrap-up Saturday from 2 to 4, contact Diane Doe, director. SHAREcenter offers school supplies to more than 30,000 students, teachers and schools in the region and to 25 nonprofit programs.
Over the past year, more than 100 tons of materials have been provided from the Auburn center on Academy Street and the Topsham satellite on Republic Avenue.
“Schools save money, businesses avoid solid waste fees, and children get the important supplies they need to focus on learning.” said Doe. “Everyone finds great stuff when they come to our resource center. Area businesses and volunteers are what make this program such a huge success.”
