LEWISTON – Vivian A. Rea, 87, a resident of Lafayette Street in Lewiston, died Wednesday, May 12, at St. Mary’s Hospital where she had been a patient for the past month.
She was born in Jay, on March 6, 1917, the daughter of Valmore and Rose Groleau Duguay. She attended Jay High School. On Aug. 21, 1939, she married Herbert Rea of Livermore Falls at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. They were married for 56 years, he died in 1995.
She worked as a self-employed beautician in Jay, Livermore Falls and Skowhegan. She and her husband moved to Skowhegan in 1959, where they lived for many years. When they retired in 1977, they moved to Lewiston.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Lewiston, and also attended church at d’Youville Pavilion Chapel in Lewiston.
She is survived by three daughters, Elaine Odin and her husband Robert of Oswego, N.Y., Carolyn Wentworth and her husband Jerrold of Skowhegan and Marian Grard and her husband David of Lewiston; one son, James Rea and his wife Audrey also of Skowhegan; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Loretta Desjardins of Livermore Falls, Lauri Ann Dorion of Jay, Pauline Dumas and her husband Gil of Lewiston and Bernice Bilodeau and her husband Norman of Livermore Falls; three brothers, Ely Duguay and his wife Alice of Livermore Falls, Edmund Duguay and his wife Pauline of Livermore and Maurice Duguay of Jay; one sister-in-law, Rita Duguay of Livermore Falls.
She was predeceased by one sister, Annette Finley; and one brother, Guy Duguay.
