WOODSTOCK – A 41-year-old Woodstock woman is wanted for allegedly stalking her ex-husband and ignoring court rulings against her in lawsuits arising from two years of contentious divorce proceedings.
Oxford County Sheriff’s Office Capt. James P. Miclon said Noreen Evelyn Strout, of 33 Harbor Road, has ignored both 11th District Court and Oxford County Superior Court orders resulting from civil lawsuits between her and her ex-husband, Loring Strout.
Two arrest warrants were issued against Strout on Wednesday. Miclon is asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to call the department’s anonymous tip line at 743-9554.
The first warrant charges her with stalking and two counts of violating a protective order on May 6. The second charges Strout with criminal mischief, criminal trespass and violating a protective order on May 10. All six misdemeanor counts are alleged to have occurred in Greenwood, Miclon said.
In one of the incidents, he said, Strout allegedly posted the 270 acres of property Loring Strout owns in Greenwood, saying she was taking it over.
Miclon said Strout broke the lock to the gate, replaced it with one of her own locks “and left a steer’s skull right on his gate.”
Beyond annoying’
Loring Strout, who owns property in Maine and New Hampshire, has remarried since he and Noreen Strout were divorced about a year ago, Miclon said.
Miclon said she has gone to her ex-husband’s property in New Hampshire, and “constantly has followed him no matter what. It’s beyond annoying.”
After consulting with the county’s assistant district attorney, Joseph O’Connor, Miclon issued the stalking charges.
“I did talk to her on the phone last week,” Miclon said. But he said she is refusing to turn herself in to face the new charges.
Just last week, Miclon said, Strout took the sheriff’s office to court on a Freedom of Information Act issue. She “claimed that we had a report she wanted” related to the legal battles with her ex-husband.
“We don’t have the report,” said Miclon, who said the department’s chief deputy, Jim Davis, testified to that fact.
“The sheriff’s office has tried working through Strout’s attorney, but it appears that she is also ignoring her own legal counsel in this matter,” Miclon said.
He said Strout may be operating a 1990 Chevy Suburban. He said she has traveled to Australia in the past. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, is around 5 feet 7 inches and weighs about 180 pounds.
