OAKLAND – Ben Kooms scored a hat trick to power Messalonskee to a 7-5 win over Lewiston in KVAC boys’ lacrosse action Thurdsay.

The Eagles (7-1) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter, and the Blue Devils (8-2) chipped away at the margin over the next three frames, but ran out of time.

Zach Sheltra had a pair of goals and an assist for Lewiston, while Matt Parker, Ben Fournier and Jon Fournier contributed a goal apiece.

Mt. Blue 17, Oak Hill 4

FARMINGTON – Luke Ferreira sizzled with five goals to catapult Mt. Blue to a 17-4 win over Oak Hill in KVAC boys’ lacrosse action Thursday.

The Cougars (9-0) scored eight goals in the first quarter and led 12-0 at the half. Garrett Lake pitched in with three goals, while Buzzy Cyr, Nate Bolduc and Casey Davis each had a pair for Mt. Blue.

The Raiders (3-5) picked up a little steam in the last frame with three goals. Tommy Bureau recorded a pair of goals.

Valley 23, Rangeley 1

RANGELEY – Mark Gaudette allowed four hits and one run as Valley dismantled Rangeley 23-1 Thursday night.

Cole Pullen led the Cavaliers attack by belting two home runs, one a grand slam, and knocking in six runs. Mark Gaudette, Lucas Melcher and Tyler Giberson each had two hits apiece for Valley who improved to 5-2 with the win.

David Raymond took the loss for the Lakers who fall to 1-7 on the season.
