AUBURN – The United Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross has named Douglas K. Hoyt Sr. as executive director.
Hoyt has joined the chapter after being involved for 17 years as a financial consultant and 11 years as an active member of the Rotary Club of Cleveland, Ohio.
Amy Guimond, emergency services director and 17-year veteran of the United Valley Chapter, said, “Mr. Hoyt is a great addition to our Chapter. His prior community involvement coupled with a strong financial background will help to bring new and exciting challenges for staff and volunteers in the years ahead.”
The United Valley chapter of the American Red Cross serves approximately 260,000 people in a four county area in western and central Maine. Its four core program areas include disaster education and relief, Armed Forces emergency services, health and safety services and blood services.
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, and provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. The American Red Cross is a worldwide movement, and helping people during times of crises is its primary mission.
