AUBURN – Central Maine Medical Center and WCSH-TV’s News Center 6 will present the Buddy to Buddy Spring Celebration Fashion Show at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Community members, cancer survivors and CMMC doctors and other health-care professionals will model clothes provided by Amaryllis Clothing, Caldwell’s Bridal, Doncaster-Gammon Dressmaking, and Jones of New York.
All proceeds will be used by CMMC’s Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center to provide free mammograms to uninsured women.
Tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance. To obtain tickets or more information, call 795-2957. News Center’s Sharon Rose and Cindy Williams will emcee the event.
The Bennett Breast Care Center and WCSH-TV are joint sponsors of Buddy to Buddy, an effort to encourage women to take control of their breast health and encourage friends to do the same.
Every month, WCSH News Center 6 broadcasts information about breast cancer, breast cancer resources, news about the latest treatments and stories of survivors.
On the sixth day of every month, women are reminded to do breast self-examination and to call their “buddies” to do the same.
The Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center provides surgical consultation, biopsy procedures, prosthetic fitting with a certified fitter for a variety of breast conditions, lymphedema management with trained specialists, breast cancer risk counseling and breast education.
