WATERVILLE – Three area Colby College seniors were elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa this spring. Membership in the society is one of the highest academic honors an undergraduate student can achieve.

Aimee L. Jack is the daughter of Curtis and Sonia Jack of Lewiston. A graduate of Lewiston High School, Jack is majoring in English.

Anna M. Royer is majoring in East Asian studies. A graduate of Fryeburg Academy, she is the daughter of Gene and Vicki Royer of Lovell.

Laurel A. Woodward is the daughter of Arthur Woodward and Faith Barker of Auburn and is a graduate of Edward Little High School. She is majoring in English and Spanish

The Phi Beta Kappa society, founded in 1776, restricts its chapters to leading colleges and universities. The Beta Chapter of Maine was organized at Colby in 1895.
