NEWRY – Danny Bennett became the grand chancellor at the Knights of Pythias annual convention at Sunday River Resort on April 24.
Bennett is active in three lodges: Hiawassee of East Stoneham, Alpha-Marathon of Strong and Down East in Machiasport. Bennett and his wife, Janice, live in Milton Township.
Others accepting positions in the Grand Lodge are Michael Barker of New Sharon, grand vice chancellor; George Zitaner of Bangor, grand prelate; Clem Worcester of Hanover, grand secretary; Clyde Barker of Strong, grand treasurer; Freeman Farrington of Andover, grand master at arms; Carl Young of Bangor, grand inner guard; and Leon Dorr of Brunswick, grand outer guard.
