WILTON – Members of Farmington Emblem Club 460 assisted the drug awareness chairwomen honor the fifth-grade class participants of the drug awareness program from the Academy Hill School on April 28.

Sylvia Richards was in charge of drug awareness for 2003/2004. The Emblem Club, with the help of the club’s 2004/2005 chairwoman, Kathy Palmer, presented gift cards to the top three fifth-graders who entered the poster contest sponsored by the Emblem Club.

Richards told the students that all the posters were so well done that it was hard for the judges to choose the top three. She said all who participated would receive a $2 gift certificate for ice creams from the Dutch Treat.

The top three winners were: first, Allison Brown, $25 gift card to Wal-Mart; second, Brandon Cochran, $15 gift card; and third, Deanna Geiger, $10 gift card.

Club members helped serve punch, cake and desserts to the students, teachers, police officers and parents who attended the ceremony.
