FARMINGTON – Frances P. Loring, 84, of Farmington, died Monday, May 17, at Edgewood Rehab. and Living Center where she had resided since December 2003.

She was born in Lewiston, on July 19, 1919, the daughter of the late Arthur and Evelyn Plummer. She was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School. She married William N. Loring May 13, 1943, and they lived in East Concord, N.H., after Mr. Loring returned from the Army.

They moved to Farmington in 1953. She was a longtime member of the Old South Congregational Church in Farmington. She was an avid sports fan, especially for the Red Sox and Patriots. She enjoyed her garden and flowers and feeding the birds and chipmunks. Doing jigsaw puzzles was her hobby. She was a very loving and caring person, and we will miss her dearly.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Smith and her husband Lloyd; son, Charles Loring and his wife Jennette; a sister, Phyllis Fraser; grandchildren, Gregory Smith, Matthew Smith and his wife Wendi, who was Frances’ special caregiver, Christopher Loring, Amy Strayer and her husband James, Charlie and Scott Loring; great-grandchildren, Adam Smith and his wife Katherine, Joshua Smith, Timothy Smith, Tyler Stebbins, Jackson Strayer; her great-great granddaughter, Alyssa; a new great-great-granddaughter is expected soon; also four nephews; and a niece.

She was predeceased by her husband, William; her mom and dad; and sister, June P. Bemis.
