OTISFIELD – Top readers in the annual Reading Is Fundamental fund-raiser at Otisfield Community School this year were fifth-grader Kevin Oulette, who read 216 units; fourth-grader Jillian Jacobs, who read 151 units; and fourth-grader Jacob Kelly, who read 99 units.

The fifth-grade class once again read the most books and raised the most money. This class has had the highest readers and fund-raisers in the school every year since first grade.

Funds raised under the program assist in buying books to give to students the following year. RIF events are annually planned at elementary schools throughout the United States and allow children to choose and keep several free paperback books each year.
