OXFORD – The Lake Thompson Fish and Game will sponsor a fried haddock public supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the clubhouse on the Paine Road. Adults $6.50, children ages 12 and under, $3.25.

Benefit walk

WATERFORD – Waterford Grange 479 is sponsoring a walk to benefit the Barbara Bush Children’s Wing at Maine Medical Center in Portland. The walk will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Kosi’s Convenience Store, Route 118. Church supper

PARIS – A ham, bean and casserole supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Deering Memorial Methodist Church at the corner of Main and Church streets, South Paris. Adults $6; children under 12, $3.

Scouts mark 70th

PARIS – The public is invited to the 70th anniversary celebration of Pack and Troop 130 from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at the First Congregational Church. An invitation goes out to all former cub masters, scoutmasters, adult leaders and Scouts of the troop. The South Paris Post Office will have a special postal cancellation. A display of troop memorabilia and personal items of scouts will also be featured.

Kanteles concert

SOUTH PARIS – Maine Kanteles, players of the Finnish harp, will present a public concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Route 117. The program will include singing and humor. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Boards to meet

BUCKFIELD – The Sumner selectpersons will meet with the Buckfield selectmen in Buckfield at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 25. The Sumner selectpersons will meet at 7:30 p.m. in Sumner and will begin to draft the 2004 town budget. This is not the Budget Committee meeting.

Passport to Fitness

PARIS – Western Maine Health presents the 2004 Passport to Fitness Kick-Off Celebration from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at the Ripley Medical Building parking lot, Stephen’s Memorial Hospital. Stretching and walks will begin every 15 minutes beginning at 5 p.m. The first 400 registrants will receive free fitness giveaways. For more information, call 743-1562, ext. 778.
