Lindsay Visbaras took first place in four different individual events and Ally Thomas had three seconds and a first as the Edward Little girls’ track and field team won its 100th consecutive regular season meet on Friday night in Belfast.
The streak began in 1997, and the win marks the seventh consecutive undefeated regular season for the squad.
The Red Eddies scored 207.5 points, besting second-place Belfast by 110.5 points, with athletes from the Auburn school taking first place in 12 of 18 events, and second place in eight.
Visbaras took victories in the 100- and 200-meter sprints, the long jump and the triple jump, and her 26.29 time in the 200 is the fastest recorded time in the state this year.
Lauren Laroche ran the fastest 1,600-meter race of the year in winning that event, crossing the line in 5:15.08.
Kristen Keene led the Eddies in the throws with a toss of 116-feet, 5-inches in the discus, and in the 200, Edward Little swept the top five places.
Mt. Ararat followed Belfast to the line with 63 points, just ahead of Waterville’s 62.
